Habitat for Humanity ReStore Donation Ambassador/Driver Needed Yonkers

This position is responsible for picking up ReStore donations from Individual Donors & with Donors and Corporations.

Detail of Responsibilities:

Working with and managing volunteers.

Drive Habitat NYC vehicles to pick-up and deliver donated goods Load and unload all donated materials.

Maintenance checks of HFHNYC ReStore vehicles.

Evaluate donations for ReStore suitability.

Providing a Charitable Donation Receipt at the time of donation pick up.

Must have willingness to learn cash register POS system.

Communicating with ReStore Manager regarding incoming donations.

Maintain an effective working relationship with ReStore donors, staff, volunteers, and

Physical demands:

Required to lift 50 pounds regularly / required to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Will experience frequent lifting, bending, squatting, and repetitive motion.

Ability to spend majority of the day driving, standing, moving heavy items.

This position will occasionally be exposed to extremes in weather (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, etc.). Work may require using GPS, power tools, climbing ladders, considerable standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching in awkward and tiring positions.

Position Requirements

Experience as a Driver of Commercial vehicles in New York City.

This position is a 5 day work week.

Ability to speak Spanish a plus but not required.

Employee Status: Hourly 35-40 hours a week, Monday-Friday

Compensation: $18/hour
