TITLE: DEVELOPMENT AND MISSION ADVANCEMENT COORDINATOR          

STATUS:                        PART-TIME

DEPARTMENT:           ADMINISTRATION                                             

ACCOUNTABILITY:    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Development and Mission Advancement Coordinator partners with the Executive Director and Board of Directors in fulfilling the mission of Marian Woods through designing and executing fundraising and community outreach campaigns and activities. The Development Coordinator will implement innovative and unique strategies to increase public and private awareness of Marian Woods through special events, publications and other activities that generate funds and connect the Sister residents with local and wider communities.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Bachelor’s Degree (masters preferred) with a minimum of three years’ experience in an administrative position, preferably in a nonprofit development/advancement office Excellent written, verbal and intrapersonal skills.
  • Well organized with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Proficient in MS Office Suite, web and other Social Media applications.

Position Specifications

-Partners with the Executive Director and Development Committee in establishing fundraising goals and utilize strategic and innovative methods to meet them.

-Develop and maintain Marion Woods’s donor base with a goal of ongoing growth.

-Develop, create and distribute marketing materials to generate awareness and funding opportunities.

-Coordinate and execute annual fundraiser with the assistance of the Marketing and Community Outreach (MACO) team.

-Facilitate and lead meetings and work groups for fundraising activities.

-Publish and distribute bi-annual newsletter “The Wheel” in collaboration with the Activities Coordinator, Resident Newsletter Committee and Executive Director.

-Outreach and identify volunteers and opportunities to assist in advertising events through the use of flyers, social and multimedia advertisements.

-Administrator of all social media accounts and campaigns, including a minimum of 1 social media post highlighting Marian Woods residents/staff/events, holidays etc.

-Update and maintain the Marian Woods website with timely, clear and creative updates including: spiritual and educational, events open to the public, resident news and fundraising events.

-Identifies and builds relationships with key donors and groups, secures new donors and send acknowledgements of donations in a timely manner.

-Organizes and plans an annual fundraising appreciation event for donors at Marian Woods.

-Produces fundraising reports for the Executive Director, Board of Directors and public review.

-Provides reliable and realistic input for creating a development budget based upon anticipated fundraising results.

Enjoys working as part of a team. Exhibits a compassionate presence with excellent listening skills and appreciation of the life experience of the residents. Is organized, flexible and comfortable with the use of technology to support services and operations. Has a sense of humor.
