Social Care/Community Coordinator
Aisling Irish Community and Cultural Center – Yonkers, NY
As part of a dynamic team in the newly redeveloped Aisling Irish Community and Cultural Center (AICC) you will develop your talent for connecting and serving the myriad of populations that the Aisling Irish Cultural and Community Center serves in the locale as the community outreach liaison. This position is suitable for someone with a strong familiarity of Irish/Irish-American populations and who possesses a social/health service background and administrative skills. You will be a key participant in the ongoing planning, development, funding and delivery of existing programs and services at AICC.
Engagement
- Provide support and collaboration to the Aisling Center’s “Young at Heart” Senior program.
- Conduct intakes for social service inquiries and initiate referrals as necessary. Build positive community connections with local mental health referral resources.
- Assist clients with benefit & passport inquiries and applications.
- Coordinate Youth Development Program “Leadership for Life” for high school students.
- Manage AICC’s volunteer pool to provide support for “Volunteers for the Homeless,” Volunteer Marathon Team and Senior Program volunteers. Ensure continuity and successful delivery of all program areas.
- Work with the Executive Director and Digital Marketing Officer to contribute content for promoting senior program, youth program and community initiatives, projects and engagement.
- Support the Operations Manager in day to day tasks within the facility.
- Facilitate and support community, networking, and AICC events.
Administrative responsibilities
- a) Report directly to the Executive Director, b) Seek supervisory consultation and collaborate with Aisling’s Licensed Clinical Social Worker as needed, c) attend staff meetings as required.
- Maintain private records (intake assessments, referral notes etc.), in accordance with The Confidentiality Act and HIPPA privacy rules.
- Compile statistics on social care and community liaison hours.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s in social science, social work or similar degree with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the field.
- You are familiar and/or interested in working with all age groups from youth to seniors.
- You have experience with Microsoft suite. Familiarity with CaseBook and Bloomerang is also desirable.
- You are comfortable working in an onsite position which includes occasional evenings to support community events and AICC fundraising events.
- Be comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of the Aisling team.
- You have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and bring a cooperative approach to your role.
- You are authorized to work in the US and can provide professional references.

Regular hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 5 pm with occasional evenings and weekends to support community events and AICC fundraising events. A competitive package is offered including generous PTO, health, optical and dental insurance, 401(K) option with salary range from $52K to $58K commensurate with experience.
