Struggling to choose a Major? Not sure what to think about when looking for programs. This event will teach tools and strategies for looking at possible career fields. 

This event is aimed towards high school and college aged students, though anyone interested in researching a new career field is welcome. This will be an in person and virtual event. 

Searching for Jobs

This event is aimed towards anyone moving to the New York Area. We will be looking at resources for searching for jobs, and best practices to gain ready employment. There will be a specific aim at students coming over on the J1 visa.

Career Closet

The Career Closet is available for anyone in need of interview appropriate attire! Please email socialworker@aislingcenter.org if you would like to take advantage of this free program.

We will be continuously accepting donations of business professional clothing for our career closet. Highly desired items are men’s pants and shirts in all sizes, women’s skirts, pants, shirts and dresses in all sizes, and shoes of any size. 

J1 Student Career Intensive

Are you a J1 student looking for career guidance and support during your time in the United States? Look no further! Our 3 day intensive career series has been specifically designed to help J1 students perfect their professional skills and find work on US soil.

During our program, you will learn how to write an American-style CV, create a professional LinkedIn profile, and perfect your business cards, cover letters and other career documents. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the process and ensure that you have the skills necessary to stand out in a competitive job market.

In addition to developing your professional skills, we will also teach you the best ways to search for jobs on US soil and provide valuable networking etiquette tips. You will have the opportunity to attend a networking event at the Irish Consulate in New York and learn from successful professionals who have made a career in the United States.

At the end of our program, you will have gained valuable knowledge and practical skills that will help you achieve success in your future career. You will have a professional resume and LinkedIn profile, business cards and other career documents to help you make a great first impression. You will also have learned valuable tips and tricks for networking and job searching in the US.
