Johnny Glynn
25th Anniversary Bronx/Yonkers Ambassador

Johnny Glynn, a Galway native, is our 25th Anniversary Ambassador to the Bronx and Yonkers. In 2015, Johnny joined his brother, Brian, in New York with his now-fiancé Serena. The first piece of advice his brother gave him was to use the Aisling Center for help with seeking jobs and accommodation. Now, Johnny considers the Aisling Center a vital source of information and appreciates all the help they provide to Irish immigrants like himself.
Since then, Johnny has felt right at home in the Yonkers community. He finds comfort in the GAA community, the availability of all the ‘good Irish grub,’ and the friendly Irish accents he hears every day on McLean Avenue.
Growing up in a sporting background, fitness and exercise were always an important key to Johnny’s life. Johnny has forged many of his friendships in NY through his involvement with sports and the GAA. He really enjoys being a player and a trainer for various teams including Cork, Leitrim, and Sligo football, Hoboken hurling, and Annie Moore’s camogie team.
We’re not sure how he found the time to join in on our 6 Weeks to 6K challenge, too, but we’re happy he did! We are thrilled to have Johnny representing our community and hope that you will all join him on McLean Avenue on October 31st with an afterparty to be held at Rory Dolan’s.
